Join me today where I start with a 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique to kick off the session. It’s a great way to bring some presence back to your day (I needed that this evening)! The second part I run you through two breathing exercises which put us into a calm state by waking up the parasympathetic nervous system. The nervous system we need to be in for rest.

For anyone who needs a little boost to their day. We delve into four rounds of 20 mouth breaths with a 30 second exhale hold. Mouth breathing can be beneficial sometimes for anyone who needs a burst of energy. Mouth breathing activates the sympathetic nervous system which provides a flight-or-flight response, a little more intensity and a feeling of mental refreshment after (after the exhale hold).

Today we delve into two practices: the first phase we extend the exhale by 8 seconds, which sets the scene for a calming practice. The second phase consists of 30 deep breaths with an extended exhale hold. You’ll feel a real nice peace after that hold.

Okay, go easy on me, it’s the first walking Breathwork session. Getting the beat of the walking and breath is not easy BUT i think you’ll love it. It certainly will teach us to slow down our walking (some it may speed up- sorry 🙂), embrace pure presence and bring a sense of peace. Please let me know what you think.
